Dysart Unified School District is Hiring a Maintenance Worker (SRHS) Near Surprise, AZ

TITLE: Maintenance Worker

REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance & Facilities or designee

FLSA: Non-exempt

GRADE: H

WORK CALENDAR: 253

FTE: 1.0

SUMMARY: To provide students with a safe, attractive and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs miscellaneous repairs and services as assigned
  • Installs, repairs and relocates heavy equipment as assigned
  • Makes minor plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Marks athletic field
  • Repairs walls, roofs and floors
  • Repairs and varnishes wooden desks, chairs, tables and other furniture
  • Sets up sound and other equipment as required
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
  • Other job related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)

Experience:

  • One (1) year experience in a maintenance related field

Abilities:

  • Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals
  • Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms
  • Reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance
